Turning into a young man

The first time
Zane took drivers ed back in the summer but the instructor would not sign him up for the actual “driving” portion until he got his eyes checked. He already wears glasses but I guess his vision has worsened.
I took him on October 17 for the eye exam and the kiddos and I finally went to pick up his new lens today.
Procrastinate much?
So on the way home, I said that I would email his drivers ed instructor to let her know.
To which Eliana commented, “When Zane drives us for the first time, I’m wearing a padded football uniform!”

Like father, like son
The kiddos and I went to my mom’s house to rake her back yard this afternoon.
After raking for about an hour and a half, we were all ready for a break.
Sitting around mom’s kitchen table with our sodas and ice cream, Eliana randomly blurted out that she wanted to play Monopoly when we went home.
Karys said she wanted to play Uno.
They asked their brother what he wanted to do and Zane said, “I want to lay on the couch and take a nap.”
Now that’s a young man after dad’s own heart.
