A Unique Experience
The music is over and the message is preparing to start.
What an incredible 24 hours! I couldn’t possibly pull another stunt like this for quite some time but the blogathon was indeed a unique experience.
{extended}Preparing To Start
No time! No time!
The service is preparing to start. Lucky for me, it will be about 10 minutes before I need to be in there so I have a small grace period.
{extended}Music For The Service
I met with the other staff members around 7:45, as is our usual custom, for a brief session. Now I'm preparing to meet with the Praise Team in the choir room and run over our music for the service. {extended}The End Is Going To Be Crazy
I'm preparing to leave for our 8:30 worship service in which I lead the music. Fortunately we have broadband internet access and a wireless network so I'll be able to bring Blogathon 2006 to a close from the church. {extended}Almost Seems Normal
I’m dressed, enjoying my usual breakfast of cereal and catching up with what’s happening around the world at cnn.com.
The morning almost seems normal.
{extended}In The Homestretch
We are definitely in the homestretch.
The sun is finally up, the cats are stirring and I need to start getting ready for our church services. If I’ve never fallen sleep in church before, I stand a good chance of breaking that streak this morning.
Gaaah…
{extended}This Feeling Won’t Last Long
This is bizarre.
I normally get up between 5:45 am and 6:00 am on Sundays. Here it is 6:00 am and all of a sudden I feel as though I just woke up from a night’s sleep.
Bet this feeling won’t last long. Good thing I’m a morning person.
{extended}Meet Ken Starr
Several years ago, Carmi had opportunity to meet Ken Starr. You remember Ken Starr?
Ken was appointed to the Office of the Independent Counsel to investigate the death of the deputy White House counsel Vince Foster and the Whitewater land transactions by President Bill Clinton. He later submitted to Congress the Starr Report, which led to Clinton’s impeachment on charges arising from the Monica Lewinsky scandal.

Top Ten Addictions
Here are my top ten addictions in no particular order:- salsa
- the internet
- 80's music
- New York City
- white chocolate mocha
- back scratches
- broadband internet access
- Lord of the Rings
- light chocolate
- hugs from my wife and daughter
Good Thing I Had Gone
Well I almost jumped out of my skin.
When Carmi went to bed, I left our bedroom door - just around the corner from my blogging station - cracked open maybe 6 inches. Just now, our central cooling unit came on and when it did, a vacuum was somehow created strong enough to make the door slam shut.
I was on the verge of nodding off. Good thing I had gone to the bathroom earlier.
{extended}The Wiggles
On Friday night, August 25, the three of us will be heading down to Charlotte for a live show with The Wiggles.
We saw them in Greenville, SC last year even though they were one guy shy. Greg, the lead Wiggle, was flying back home to Australia as the concert was going on due to a hernia. Hopefully he’s in full strength this time.

Head Games
There’s one song that just keeps running through my mind right now…Head Games by Foreigner.
Head games, it
{extended}Don’t Do This At Home
I’ve got this really bad, nasty, awful habit of biting my fingernails.
One thing I’ve noticed lately is that the sleepier I get, the more I bite. Like biting them will keep me awake. Like there’s something there to bite anyway.
Kids…don’t do this at home.

Is It The Salsa?
Salsa. I love the stuff and absolutely crave it like I can only imagine a pregnant woman might crave ice cream or pickles.
Here at 2:30 in the morning, I recently finished one small bowl of the stuff and I’m thinking very seriously about working on another. My nose is running like someone turned on a faucet. Why is that?
Is it the salsa or is it because my daughter, struggling with the beginnings of a cold, coughed squarely in my face on more than one occasion today?
{extended}My Second Wind
I’m catching my second wind, thank you very much, so I don’t have to rely on old reruns of Hee-Haw to keep me awake.
Thank the Lord.
