Version 2 now online
Version 2.0 of hendersonhomeonline.com is up and running. I quickly grow bored with my web designs so it was time for an overhaul even if the original design was only up for about 6 months. Here’s what version 1.0 looked like:

The Honeymoon Is Over
One thing is for sure...I hope that every Wednesday is not like today. What a whirlwind! Had to be at church by 6:30 to practice with the Praise Team in the Fellowship Hall for our first service together on Sunday. I was a tad late because I was running around at the last minute trying to find a microphone for Pastor Steve's Bible study. At 7:15, I jetted into the sanctuary for Choir practice. After running over a couple of Call to Worship's, I mentioned a particular song title that we were going to practice and...OH MY GOSH...you'da thunk the world was coming to an end. There were a couple of choir members (who shall remain unnamed) that royally showed their behinds. They weren't nasty about it but just going on and on and on and on about THAT song that has been sung one too many times. Geez oh pete...give it a rest ladies! Certain people just feel like they deserve to be heard. The good news is that we settled on a couple of songs that everyone seemed more comfortable with. Immediately after choir practice, I met with the people who will help me lead music in our VBS Worship Rallies. Very tired now...must go to sleep... {extended}Wednesday, June 29, 2005
Hoop, There It Is!
What a pleasant surprise! I went to the Goodson Bus Sales website this afternoon and they are already advertising the Blue Monkey.

Bling Bling
I've got to stop letting Carmi go to Wally World alone. After supper, Carmi "said" that she needed to check on the availability and pricing of craft supplies for the Antigua VBS. Uh-huh. While I'm playing Mr. Mom at home and giving Eliana a bath, Carmella is checking on availability and pricing all right...at the jewelry counter. She comes home with 5 rings for the Empress who proudly flashes her new accessories.

Goodbye Blue Monkey
Mom had a yard sale this morning and we went over around 11:00ish. Janise and the kids helped Mom most of the morning but they were gone and Chip and Ozzie were tending the store when we arrived. We had not met Ozzie before so Eliana had a fun time trying to befriend her 4-legged cousin.
Carmi and I delivered my bus to Goodson Bus Sales in Maiden, NC later in the afternoon. Both the engine and the generator cranked on the first try which is amazing since the bus has not been started in probably 8 months. Carmi says this is a sign and that the bus will sell in the first week. I'm praying that she's right. As soon as the bus sells, we will most likely be able to start the process of adopting Eliana's baby sister. Goodbye Blue Monkey...you'll be missed!

Oh, by the way...I just noticed that it's only 6 months until Christmas!! {extended}
Pee free
We are so proud of our little girl.
Eliana has gone for one entire week without an “accident” so Mommie and Daddie hereby proclaim her to be potty-trained.
YOU ROCK!
To celebrate the milestone, Kathy E presented her with this hugemongous bag of Skittles, the official Empress candy of choice!

Two’s a crowd
Eliana was sitting in my recliner and watching “Snow White” when I passed through the living room. With outstretched arms, she whimpered for me to come and sit alongside her.
As I wiggled and tried to pry myself into the little bit of open space in the chair, she says, “Your heiny is too big!”
{extended}Pile It On
I received a phone call from Ray Berryhill who is on the Committee on Committees. They would like for me to serve on the search committee to find another Music Minister. I wouldn't mind doing it but at some point it will require that I be gone on Sundays to listen to prospects which means I would have to find someone to lead the music at our church. Might be a little much to pile on my plate but I told him I would give them an answer on Sunday.I brought Eliana with me to "Celebrate Recovery" tonight and she sang 3 songs..."Jesus Loves The Little Children", "My B-I-B-L-E" and "My J-E-S-U-S". I hadn't even thought about having her sing but several people during the meal time asked her if she would. {extended}

First Choir Practice
I had my first choir practice tonight and it went really well. We should have started at 7:15 but didn't begin until around 8:15. Our older youth group that went to Greece for World Changers a couple of weeks ago made their presentation tonight and it ran long. Fortunately my plans were to do a couple of songs straight from the hymnal so they were familiar to most and we didn't have to spend a lot of time on them. The choir will perform "Gentle Shepherd" as our call to worship and "All That Thrills My Soul" for the anthem. {extended}Wednesday, June 22, 2005
Hurricane Eliana
Just when we get the house picked up, it takes all of...oh...only a very short bit for the living room to look like this!

The Great Adventure Begins
Today was my first Sunday as interim Music Director. Everything went without a hitch. Well...except for the slight flub at the end of the special music I provided for the 11:00 am service. But other than that, everything went without a hitch...honest. {extended}Sunday, June 19, 2005
Happy Birthday Mom
We had a meeting for our Antigua mission team tonight at 6:00. 10 of the 16 team members were present so that wasn't too bad. Immediately following the meeting, Carmi and I jetted over to Saragoni's at Queen's Landing for Mom's birthday dinner. Present for dinner were Kathy, Terry, Chip, Janise, Trent, Ashley, Jacob (Janise's Dad), Brian and Carrie. We had taken Eliana to Mom's before our meeting so they brought her to the restaurant. A wonderful meal was enjoyed by all but the highlight of the evening was a birthday cake that Carmi bought at Bi-Lo. Yum, yum, yum!Eliana colored a custom card just for Gran'mommie.

A penny for your thoughts
Eliana seemed to be deep in thought this morning.

Oh wait…

It’s just Dora, Dora, Dora the Explorer!
{extended}A Thing For Purple
Frosty has had a shoe fetish for years. She seems to have a special affinity for Carmi's purple bedroom slippers.

I’ve got all day
Our cat, Frosty, sits every morning and waits for me to raise the window blinds so she can see out.
She has the patience of Job.
