The rest of our Monday in Guangzhou
We were reunited with the other four families from our adoption agency who are also staying at the White Swan. The others arrived yesterday so the Hendersons were the last ones to join the party.
After Karys’ physical and visa photo, our group met for a short joint road trip to the local mall. Eliana and Katherine were the dynamic duo and kept us busy chasing them down and trying to round them up. I’m glad they have each other to play with.
Look at this brood of mama hens gathered around the jewelry counter!
At 6:00, we finished up and went to dinner at a nearby restaurant. When you walk in the door, you’re greeted by all sorts of creepy-crawly things just waiting to be delicacies on your plate:
There were snakes and eels and many other choicy morsels.
Still hungry?
No lie...Eliana was crying when we sat down at the dinner table. She was sure that we would be eating them.

Well that is enough to totally gross me out. I’m with Eliana ... ewwwww! I’m not sure I could have eaten anything after that.
Glad y’all have a group to “hang with” for the next day or two. Do you fly back together?
I would have been right there with Eliana - that’s one smart kid!!
Well after the article that I saw on MSNBC about this province eating rats and having rat banquets, I’m just not surprised on anything that might come to the table. I might be able to eat snake or eel but the bugs and other creepy crawlies are out. I might not be crying at the table but the waiter/waitress will be taking that back to the kitchen!!! After all as a vet tech I know were those bugs have been. I bet the people in this province have parasites in them. You might want to think about getting dewormed when you get home.
I know Eliana enjoyed the opportunity to “play shop” with her new friend and have a rest from Karys for a while. I’m so excited about all the things you’ve shared with us. What a fantastic trip, and wonderful memories for a lifetime.
Auntie Tema - I’m enjoying working in the office with Sue. We’re having a great time together.
Kerry,
Four of our five families fly to Chicago together. One family is from California and I believe they are flying to Hong Kong tomorrow (Wednesday, our time) to spend a day or two before heading home.
Hi guy and gals.
Shopping? Now that looks like fun. Especially if Doug is paying for it.
FOOD? I could not even choke down the stuff in St. Vincent much less these creepy crawly things.
I hope you enjoy your last few days.

Hmmmmmmm.......... Well I want to thank you Doug for aiding me into losing more weight! EEEEEEEWWWWWWWWW>>>UCK! I would have been crying also!
Have a good nights sleep!
