The men of our church were having breakfast in the fellowship hall this morning so I was leaving the house even earlier than usual for a Sunday. As I made final preparations to go, I heard the Little Empress come running through the house and crawl up into our bed with Carmi. She was fast asleep again when the time came for goodbye kisses.
Carmi later told me that they slept for about an hour after I left before trying to rouse themselves. They lay in the bed for a while and talked and laughed but it wasn't long before Eliana had enough. She was ready to go and Mommie was taking too much time.
She looked at Carmi and said, "You're being lazy. You want me to leave you here and just drive myself to church?"
Guess we'll have to start hiding the car keys.
