Day 2 in China - part 1
It’s 5:00 in the morning in Beijing and I couldn’t get back to sleep so here I is. Carmi? You know THAT girl is sleeping. Eliana is awake and on the floor drawing to lamp light. Very peaceful.
We were going to get up at 6:00 am anyway. The plan for the morning is to repack, eat breakfast in the hotel restuarant and check out by 8:30. Amy, our guide, will meet us and take us to the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. Then we’ll board a train (which, by the way, she tells us is VERY nice) and take a 2-hour ride down to Shijiazhuang, the current capital of Hebei Province.
Continue to pray for Eliana. She still has a nasty-sounding cough.
Comments
Doug get Eliana some Hau drops. They are drops that I used on the way back from India and I got them in Taipai when we landed there. I used them for a dry, scratchy thoat with a cough. They are just this side of nasty but they work. You should be able to find them or your guide may know where to find them. Hopefully if your can find them you will be able to convince Eliana to try them.
Hello Henderson family! So glad to hear you had a safe trip! Looking forward to following the rest of your journey!

Dear Carmi, Doug, Tema & Eliana,
When I left you at the airport I watched you go through security as long as I could see you. I was so glad to see your first entry on the websit to know you’d all arrived safely. I know God will guide each step for you. Each day I search your website for updates. I’ll keep the cats & Nick the hermit crab fed. Vera & I are lunching together Monday. Everyone here sends their love and prayers.
Love,
Mama Nannie-Coe
We love the updates and pictures! Hope today has been a wonderful day for you. And just think ... tomorrow ... Karys!! I get chills just thinking about it. Please give her a hug and a sugar from Aunt Kerry and Uncle Art. Oh yeah ... and keep one for each of you as well.
As I told you before you left ... we’re praying you there and praying you home!!
Can’t wait from one entry to the next! Lots of folks at Homecoming asked about you and said they were keeping up with the web page. Know that I love you and you are constantly in my prayers. Monday is the day we’ve waited for, for so long! Hugs to Doug, Carmi, Eliana, Tema and Karys!!!!!
Mom

I’m so excited for you all. It brings tears to my eyes to see Eliana in the country of her birth. So I’m sure there will be a full waterworks display when I see her with her sister!
