Wow, Carmi. You and I have some stuff there in common, that’s for sure. Like you, I am OCD and obsessed with washing my hands and making every person in my home do so as well, especially before eating or handling food. This irritates my husband beyond words. I’m a born-again Christian as well and have FINALLY found a church to belong to. I love all things Asian - I think it’s because my grandmother is Japanese. She is my favorite grandparent and we have always been extremely close. I named my firstborn daughter after her. I have dealt with infertility all my adult life. I have very severe PCOS, to the point that I ended up having a hysterectomy in 2003. However, God has blessed me with three beautiful daughters (all five years apart - that’s how long it too to “break through” the infertility!) that I would die for. I adore photography and am very good at home interior. I just wish I had the money to really do up my house the way I would like. But I do pretty good with what I have. I grew up exposed to motorcycles and learned to ride when I was 16.
When I was young, I hated my name as well. Like you, I could never find my name on any novelty item. We moved a lot when I was in grade school and every time we started a new school was hard on me. The teachers would ask me my name and I was so hating my name but afraid to give a fake one, so I would whisper my name in the hopes that they would just accept the whisper and leave me alone! Now I love my name. I still can’t find my name on novelty items. My mother went to Ireland two years ago and brought me back a keychain with my name on it. It is extremely precious to me.
Right now I live in Rock Hill, SC. I lived in Charlotte for four months but hated it. It was very hard for me to make any friends there. Our house is up for sale now and we are planning to move to Concord. Once again, I’ll have to find a good church to belong to.
Thanks for the glimpse in to your life. It was interesting. Have a great day. God bless!
