My frown turned upside-down

I started watching Lost back in April. Not on network television but on the ABC website.

I was hooked from the very first episode and watched the shows in perfect, chronological order… through season 1, season 2, season 3, season 4.

With some sense of sadness, I prepared for season 5 which was the current season that had just wrapped in May. Once season 5 was over, there would be no more Lost for many months. Sniff.

But… when I surfed to the season 5 page… I was quickly dismayed.

Of the 17 episodes from season 5, only 6 were online.

It wouldn’t have been quite so bad had the first 6 episodes been online. But that wasn’t the case. The last 6 episodes were online and the first 11 episodes were missing.

That made abso-stinkin-lutely zero sense to me. N-o w-a-y was I going to skip the first 2/3s of the season.

So I waited. And I waited.

For 2 months I peeked at the ABC website almost daily… holding tightly to a slim ribbon of hope that episodes 1-11 would graciously appear.

For 2 months I was disappointed.

Then last Friday… oh man… last Friday, my frown turned upside-down. For you see, season 5 - in it’s entirety - is finally online.

I’m already sleeping better at night.

Sometimes it’s the small things that make us smile!  Glad they finally posted your missing episodes.

OMG!!! You just made my day.  I started watching the Lost episodes from the very beginning this summer.  It took me nearly a month to plow through all the episodes and I ran into the same frustration when it came to the last season 5.  I had read that the missing episodes wouldn’t be released until December.

I am so grateful you posted this.  I haven’t heard about it anywhere else.  Television has been so disappointing these past few weeks.

Thanks,

Lori, I hadn’t found info anywhere that said when or even if the missing episodes would be made available. I just figured they would show up sometime between this summer and the new season next year.

It’s been so long since I watched the end of season 4 that I almost forgot the storyline.

Doug,
You know this is the last season right?  Kirk and I have been hooked since season 1!  Have fun watching those episodes and maybe you can help us answer the questions we always have after each episode this season!

Yes, Cindy. I know.

This is one show I might just have to add to my DVD collection.

Doug, I keep forgetting that you have become a LOST fan.  We watch it faithfully and can’t wait for the new episodes to start.  I think it is the best show on television - it’s amazing.
