We enjoy watching the Travel Channel and one of the shows I’ll catch occasionally is called Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern
. It’s one of those shows so disgusting at times that it’s simply hard to turn away.
Tonight at 11:00 pm EST, Andrew is in Guangzhou, China. Cantonese food originates from Guangzhou, the city that used to be called Canton. A popular saying describes Cantonese food like this: “Anything that walks, swims, crawls, or flies is edible.”
Our experience in a Guangzhou restaurant last September was interesting to say the least.
Oh boy! Can’t wait to see him eat sand worms and the other creepy crawlies we saw! I’m sure Eliana will want to watch…
Now I’ve tried some fairly adventuresome things in my time, but I don’t think I could eat those! I’ll have to dvr this and watch it.
That and Anthony Boudain’s “No Reservations” are hard, yet fascinating, to watch. I couldn’t do what they do.
The only time that I get to watch the food channel is at the gym on the cardio machines. I would much rather watch them make cakes or anything else. I would not want to watch them eat sand worms or silk worms etc. If they are going to do that I think that I would just have to do my cardio later.
